Important note: The lines ΦX-86Fa and ΦX-96E show poor survival after injection and are generally considered weaker, especially the line ΦX-96E. The landing site at 51D produces an enhancer trap effect from the nearby hibris gene, so inserted transgenes will/may be expressed ectopically.

Note that the eGFP and RFP reporters are driven by a 3xP3-promoter. In practice, this leads to a pink eye color (from the RFP) gradually appearing in the adult flies as they get older. This pink, however, is clearly distinct from the color resulting from expression of white. Furthermore, after crossing out the integrase-carrying chromosomes (which contain RFP and eGFP transgenes), this "eye phenotype" decreases.
